About Strengthening Community-based Ecotourism Program
CBET is a tailored program for eco-tour operators who want to build strong, long-term partnerships with Community-Based Eco-Tourism Sites (CBETs) across Cambodia. We are looking for operators who genuinely care about community-based tourism and are ready to co-create tourism offerings that generate income for CBETs, support conservation efforts, and offer meaningful, responsible travel experiences for guests.

Our approach
Hands-on Collaboration with CBETs
Work directly with CBET communities and program partners through field visits. With our facilitation support, you’ll have the chance to understand their strengths and challenges, and give feedback on how they can improve the visitor experience and partnership with market partners like you. You’ll play a key role in helping CBETs improve how to deliver safe, consistent, high-quality visitor experiences.
Tailored Support to Build High-Impact Tour Products
Shape or refine high-impact, community-based tour products rooted in CBET assets, conservation values, and visitor needs. You’ll receive support to strengthen your business model, pricing, storytelling, and partnership approach so your packages are viable and market-ready. Selected operators will also receive small financial support to develop, test, and implement their eco-tourism packages with CBET partners.
Visibility and Promotion for Your New Offerings
Benefit from a digital visibility campaign that highlights your co-created eco-tourism products and CBET partners to domestic audiences seeking meaningful, responsible travel experiences. This campaign will be supported by content creators and influencers who help tell the story of your CBET-based tours.
Long-Term Partnerships and a Supportive Network
Build clear, mutually beneficial partnerships with CBETs and connect with a cohort of like-minded eco-tour operators, tourism stakeholders, and NGO and government partners who share your commitment to community-based eco-tourism in Cambodia.
