A groundbreaking initiative for social inclusion and empowerment!
We organized the first Sahakum Sivilai Fest on January 25, 2025 as a crucial inclusionary step toward a cohesive society by enabling an open and interactive space for marginalized communities—LGBTQI+ community, indigenous people, and persons with disabilities—to learn, engage, and connect. The festival also welcomed over 16 youth groups in Cambodia who have made a profound impact, showcasing their impressive achievements and demonstrating the power of youth-driven initiatives to inspire lasting community change.
With 600 participants, the festival offered a transformative day—amplifying the voices of those often left behind through exhibitions, inclusive project sharing, performances, film screenings, Cambodian sign language interpretation, and a glimpse into inclusive communications.
Festival Activities
Social Projects Exhibition
With over 16 youth groups from across Cambodia and 6 changemaker teams from Changemakers Social Incubator 2 program, we proudly showcased 22+ social initiatives tackling key themes like social inclusion, health, sustainability, impact media, decent youth employment and youth leadership empowerment.
Inclusive Project Sharing
Not only did the 6 changemaker teams showcase their impactful work at the Sahakum Sivilai Fest, but they also took the opportunity to share their journeys of running social projects that uplift marginalized communities, inspiring and engaging with many participants throughout the festival.
Cambodia Sign Language and Inclusive Communications
To offer a diverse and inclusive experience to our participants, we delivered meaningful sessions on sign language and inclusive communications, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
Performances & Screenings
we organized a community film screening, showcasing the stories of Indigenous communities to capture our participants’ hearts and spread empathy. In addition, we featured art performances to make their experience even more inspiring and memorable.
