About the Changemakers Social Incubator Program
Youth leadership has a crucial role to play in fostering inclusive community development. The Changemakers Social Incubator 2 program helps aspiring young leaders engage with social challenges and drive positive change. Through this program, participants gain experiential learning by connecting directly with challenge holders—representatives from LGBTQI+ communities, Indigenous peoples, and people with disabilities—using their innovative thinking and resources to solve real-world problems and promote inclusivity.
Through this program, we have supported six changemaker teams, comprising twenty-four empathetic leaders, who have initiated social projects focused on improving the inclusion of three rightsholder groups: LGBTQIA+ individuals, Indigenous Peoples, and people with disabilities. Learn more about their initiatives and get in touch if you’d like to be part of our upcoming events!

Our Approach
Experimental Learning
Our participants have the opportunity to engage directly with challenge holders from rights-holder groups, including the LGBTQI+ community, indigenous people, and people with disabilities. Through these meaningful interactions, they gain profound insights into the real-life challenges and lived experiences of marginalized communities in Cambodia, deepen their understanding and empathy.
Capacity Building
Our selected changemaker teams received over 16 hours of intensive training to strengthen their capacity for effectively implementing their social projects. We equipped them with a diverse skill set, including leadership development, project management strategies, event planning, digital campaign setup, report writing, and personal and project branding.
Leadership development
Alongside providing experimental learning and project management skills, we advanced their leadership development through project implementation by awarding $600 grants to six changemaker teams. This funding enabled them to turn their ideas in the real world, empowering them to become active agents of positive change.
This was my first hackathon, and it was an incredible experience. I felt empowered to share my ideas and connect with like-minded individuals. The mentors’ support was invaluable, helping me refine and pitch my concept. I also gained a deep insight about diversity and the importance of creating inclusive spaces.
