Market Access &
Growth Connector
We’re looking for someone who believes that great products deserve real markets – and that the person who makes that happen is part dealmaker, part storyteller, part relationship-builder. Someone who can identify the right buyers, build durable partnerships, and translate Cambodian products into commercial wins on shelves, menus, and across supply chains.
This role sits at the center of Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Entrepreneurship Department. You’ll work alongside entrepreneurs, especially in agriculture and non-timber forest products (NTFPs), to capacitate them and connect them with the buyers, partners, and market opportunities that turn good products into sustainable businesses.
You’re the person who opens doors, builds trust on both sides, and makes sure value flows back through the supply chain to the communities that created it.

About Impact Hub Phnom Penh:
Over the past 10 years, Impact Hub Phnom Penh has supported more than 900+ ventures across Cambodia. As we deepen our support for entrepreneurs, we recognize that one of the most critical drivers of success for SMEs is reaching the right buyers, positioning products effectively, and building lasting commercial relationships.
To address this, we are seeking a Market Access & Growth Connector to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap. We are open to hiring a Coordinator, Manager, or Lead level.
What You'll Do:
Regardless of level, the core work is the same. You will:
- Build and steward a network of buyers and partners. You develop trusted relationships with buyers, distributors, and strategic partners. And you turn that trust into real commercial opportunities for the entrepreneurs we support.
- Map the ecosystem and know which doors matter. You understand the landscape (i.e. who the buyers are, what they’re looking for, and where the entry points are). You don’t just open doors; you know which ones are worth opening.
- Assess readiness and position products for the right markets. You work with entrepreneurs to sharpen their value proposition, pricing, packaging, and pitch through training and mentoring. You understand where each entrepreneur is in their journey, and you help them see what’s working, what needs strengthening, and when the timing is right to be in front of a specific buyer. You’re invested in getting them there.
- Be present in the spaces where opportunities happen. You represent Impact Hub at events, trade shows, B2B sessions, and industry gatherings to identify specific buyers and partnerships worth exploring, leaving with concrete next steps, and bringing opportunities back to the entrepreneurs we support.
- Bring market intelligence back to the team. What you learn from buyers (what they want, what’s missing, what’s not landing) flows back to shape Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s technical know-how.
- Tell the story. You shape how our entrepreneurs and their products are seen: helping buyers understand the value, the people behind it, and why it matters. You guide content direction and marketing materials with warmth and substance, and people leave your conversations curious and wanting to follow up.
- Deliver commercial results. You measure your work by what actually happened: contracts signed, shelves stocked, repeat orders placed, entrepreneurs growing their sales. You care about outcomes, not activity.
- Work as part of a team. You sit alongside colleagues who handle community building, product-quality training, logistics, and coordination. Your lane is external: relationships, partnerships, and market strategy. You collaborate closely, share what you’re learning, and own your domain.
We’re Hiring at Three Levels
We’re open to candidates at different stages of their career. The level we hire at will depend on your experience, the autonomy you can bring, and what you’ve already demonstrated. Here’s what each level looks like:
Coordinator
You’re right for this level if you’re earlier in your career but already have real experience building relationships, supporting sales or partnerships, and working in or around entrepreneurship, agriculture, or market development. You’re hungry to learn and ready to be in the field
What this looks like day-to-day:
You support the execution of market access activities — coordinating with buyers, helping prepare entrepreneurs for pitches, organizing showcasing events, and maintaining partner communications. You work under closer guidance from the Director of Entrepreneurship and grow into more independent relationship management over time.
Experience:
- 2–3 years in business development, sales support, partnerships, or a related field
- Exposure to entrepreneurship, agriculture, food products, or SME ecosystems (Cambodia or the region)
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and follow through.
Manager
You’re right for this level if you’ve owned relationships and delivered commercial results independently. You don’t need someone to tell you which doors to knock on as you already know, and you’ve closed deals before.
What this looks like day-to-day:
You independently manage a buyer pipeline and partnership portfolio. You run B2B matchmaking, lead negotiations, and support entrepreneurs through the full sales cycle. You contribute to market strategy and work alongside the Director as a peer on commercial direction.
Experience:
- 3–5 years in business development, partnerships, market access, or sales — with a track record of closed deals
- Direct experience working with entrepreneurs, SMEs, agricultural products, NTFPs, or related value chains
- Ability to speak the language of both entrepreneurs and institutional buyers
- Comfort initiating relationships without warm introductions
- Can conceptualize market access curricula for program implementation.
Lead
You’re right for this level if you bring a mature network, strategic thinking, and the ability to set commercial direction — not just execute it. You’ve built partnerships programs or market access strategies from scratch, and you can mentor others while driving results yourself.
What this looks like day-to-day:
You co-design the market access strategy with the Director of Entrepreneurship Programs and support team learning and curriculum design around these topics. You set the commercial vision, lead high-stakes negotiations, and bring existing relationships to the table. You’re the person buyers and partners want to talk to. You also help shape how the broader team approaches market positioning and storytelling.
Experience:
- 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or market access — with demonstrated strategic leadership
- Existing network of buyers, distributors, or market actors in relevant sectors
- Experience setting commercial or sales strategy, not just executing someone else’s
- Track record of building and sustaining high-value partnerships
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
Requirements
What Matters at Every Level
These aren’t nice-to-haves. They’re the things that make someone right for this work, regardless of seniority:
- You can tell a story: Whether it’s a pitch to a buyer, a product sheet, or a conversation at an event; you communicate with warmth and substance.
- You’re a relationship person: You build trust quickly. People remember you, not because you’re out there, but because you’re genuine, curious, and you follow through.
- You care about the entrepreneurs we work with: You treat their products, stories, and trust seriously. They’re partners, not just deals to be made or products to be sold.
- You have real curiosity about products and markets: You ask insightful questions. You understand what makes a product land with a buyer and what doesn’t.
- You believe value should flow back: You care that smallholder farmers and local communities benefit, not just the top of the chain.
- You’re hands-on: You move from strategy to action without needing a perfect process. You’re resourceful and you figure things out.
- Fluency in English is essential – written and spoken, including for pitches and marketing materials. Khmer fluency is preferred.
- We’re also open to candidates with strong regional experience and a demonstrated ability to build local relationships.
What Will Excite You
- You get a real kick from closing deals and seeing entrepreneurs succeed because of a connection you made
- You’re curious about products, markets, and how the dots connect to create value for everyone
- You thrive in environments where no two days are the same
- You want to combine strategy and action – thinking big, then making it happen on the ground.
What This Role Asks of You
This role lives outside the office more than inside it. We want to be upfront about what that means:
- You’ll spend most of your time with people — buyers, partners, entrepreneurs — rather than at a desk
- You’ll initiate conversations with strangers and senior stakeholders, often without warm introductions
- You’ll create opportunities rather than wait for them
- You’ll navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities with energy
- You’ll travel to the provinces where our entrepreneurs are based.
