A BIT ABOUT ME 🌟
I’m Denise, Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s Director of Entrepreneurship Programs. I’m a development professional and a gender advocate with over 10 years of experience in social development across my work in nonprofits, social enterprises, and impact incubators. I am involved in end-to-end program management, from design and fundraising all the way to post-program M&E and support; this breadth of experience has allowed me to understand the gaps and opportunities for impact entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and access external capital.
In the Philippines, I mixed commercial strategy with impact models to help develop an ecosystem of financially secure and sustainable ventures, mostly run by women entrepreneurs in agriculture, retail, climate, and health. Here in Phnom Penh, I hope to learn and do the same.
WHAT I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT ⭐️
- I am a gender equality and inclusion advocate through and through! I love creating spaces and opportunities for people to be authentically themselves and thrive in their spaces of influence and action, whether it be in entrepreneurship, community, or in their personal lives. If they can struggle a little less for a seat at the table, I know I would have done my job.
- I love collaborative design and implementation, engaging different actors from the ecosystem like governments, CSOs, and funders to create programs that meet the very real needs of impact enterprises and support them in ways that matter to them.
- I enjoy scouting for and supporting local art and fashion businesses – my most used and worn pieces are crafted by Filipino artisan communities. Can’t wait to find new favorites in Phnom Penh!
