Nurturing a generation of impact-driven content creators
88% of Cambodians use social media as their primary source of news, information, and opinion. Content creators have a huge reach and influence — yet as a professional field, content creation is underdeveloped and underrecognized.
Through the media4impact accelerator, we nurtured the development of 4 social-impact driven content creators raising awareness on topics from mental health to sexual and reproductive health. Combined, their platforms reach tens of thousands of followers. We borrowed the “accelerator” concept and structure from entrepreneurship and applied it to social impact media, providing these emerging content creators with the skill-building, mentorship, networks, and seed funding to take their platforms to the next level.
Our Approach
A Roadmap for Impact
Participants benefited from diagnostic sessions to sharpen their vision and strategy, accompanied by masterclasses from seasoned industry experts, and personalized business and creative advice.
Sharper Skills & Stronger Content
Through workshops, peer circles, and mentoring, participants gained a deeper understanding of online community engagement, media strategy, creative and design strategy, and financial viability.
Professional Community
Being a content creator can be lonely and challenging. Through the program, we saw participants’ increase in motivation, confidence, and sense of belonging within a professional community of peers.
“The program has helped us a lot. We have a better vision and improved our strategy to engage audiences. Plus, we also have the opportunity to collaborate with other fellow content creators.”
