About the Khmer Agriculture for the Future Accelerator

The Khmer Agriculture for the Future (KAF) Accelerator is an equity-free program designed to scale ventures in climate-resilient agriculture and agroecology across four provinces in Cambodia: Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, and Preah Vihear. The eight agri-businesses and Agricultural Cooperatives that we support provide products and services to strengthen the climate resilience of smallholder farmers or are working to improve market access for farmers using climate-resilient agriculture practices.

When they conclude the program in early 2025, each venture will have a comprehensive business diagnostic, tangible new communications products and visibility, improved impact measurement frameworks aligned with the SDGs, and roadmaps for scaling up their reach.

Cambodian Standard Development & Supply Co., Ltd

CSDS is a wholesale distributor of organic produce. They work with over 5,000 farmers, providing training in Good Agricultural Practices to improve farmer livelihoods and boost local production.

Growing high-quality vegetables in mesh greenhouses, plus offering construction, training, and loans for farmers — enhancing agricultural productivity in Battambang and supporting farmers’ livelihoods.

Preah Vihear Meanchey Union of Agricultural Cooperative

PMUAC specialises in EU-certified organic rice, supplying over 10,000 tonnes annually from 3,000+ farmers. They focus on market connections, boosting farmer capacity, and improving soil health.

Phum Khtum Agricultural Cooperative

Phum Ktum AC boosts clean cassava production in Oddar Meanchey, benefiting nearly 500 farmers. They aim to expand their network and output, focusing on improved cultivation, team capacity, and market connections.

Borey Akpiwat Agricultural Cooperative

Borey Apiwat AC in Banteay Meanchey specialises in rice production with 135 farmers using SRP standards. Their goals include improving cultivation techniques and expanding partnerships with millers.

Battambang Union of Agricultural Cooperatives

BUAC specialises in rice production. Its nethouses yield 6+ tons of vegetables daily and 8,000 tons of rice annually. BUAC is working to improve their market reach, adoption of cover cropping, and farmer yields.

Lala Garden

Lala Garden supplies organic vegetables to over 100 stores and branches of major supermarkets. They collaborate closely with farmers, providing consultation, farm demos, and inputs.

Larano is a machinery company offering around 30 types of agricultural machinery tailored to Cambodia’s conditions. They consult with farmers to determine their needs and distribute the machinery through depots.

What we offer

Structured Support & Learning

Through expert sessions, peer coaching circles, and field visits, we strengthen ventures’ capacity in climate-resilient agriculture topics and around five key pillars of scaling: leadership and team, impact measurement, access to finance, expanding reach, and strategic partnerships.

Access to Networks

Within the cohort, we foster a community of fellow entrepreneurs to collaborate and build strategic connections with. We also facilitate introductions to local farmers' communities and to key ecosystem actors.

Individual Mentorship

Each venture in the program is at a unique point in their growth, with unique needs and opportunity. That’s why we place a heavy emphasis on individualized mentoring. We match each venture with an agri-business mentor as well as with an expert in climate-resilient agriculture.

Financial Support

Each venture receives $7,000 in equity-free funding to help scale their business and support the implementation of their climate-resilient agriculture products/services.
