As part of this rapid evolution, we are now looking for an exceptional individual with significant experience raising funds from large public or private donors and a clear desire to join our team as APAC Regional Development Lead. The successful candidate will become a cornerstone of our fundraising and partnership ambition. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join our regional team and work closely with our 12 local Impact Hubs and Community Partners in the region, ensuring we grow a solid pipeline of partners and secure large-scale grants to support our work and Impact Hubs in the Asia-Pacific.

Job Description

Position: Regional Development Lead for the Asia Pacific Cluster

Report to: Regional Co-host and Global Business Development Director

Capacity: Starting in Nov 2023 –  Dec 2024, 0.5-0.8 FTE (20-32 hours or 2.5-4 days/week)

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

1. Fundraising & Business Development:

  • Generate new business through partnerships and regional/global offerings according to agreed targets in coordination with Impact Hub’s Global Business Development Team and APAC Cluster Co-hosts.
  • Manage and expand accounts with existing partners in line with regional goals.
  • Prospect and develop new partnerships, build relationships, and manage communication with respective leads in collaboration with local Impact Hubs and Impact Hub Company.
  • Act as an account manager (in some partnerships, some others are handled by IH Global), overseeing internal execution of agreed partnership packages in collaboration with dedicated project managers where applicable.
  • Maintain a transparent leads pipeline and use of a sales/CRM management system (Airtable).
  • Lead the development and implementation of effective protocols for joint partnerships development activities and communication observing global protocols. 
  • Prospect, manage, and develop new fundraising leads in line with regional goals.
  • Execute and creatively manage the process of proposal writing, budgeting, pitching, and sales in partnership with co-hosts and APAC Cluster members.
  • Manage the regional fundraising pipeline – lead prospecting and management.
  • Manage the APAC Fundraising Deal Flow per hub.

2. Regional Strategy Coordination

  • Maintain and evolve a regional business development strategy (products, programs & partnerships) based on market feedback, regional Impact Hubs’ needs, and in alignment with Impact Hub’s global network goals in partnership with the co-hosts. 
  • Propose key goals & targets for regional business development and oversee flawless execution in collaboration with other global team members, regional local Impact Hubs’ talent, and co-hosts.
  • Define an effective events representation strategy in key external conferences for the region aligned to regional goals and represent Impact Hubs in regional events where appropriate.
  • Participate as a member of the global programs and partnership team with a regional focus on Asia-Pacific and attend regular pipeline management meetings with IHC as required.
  • Prepare the annual performance report for the IH APAC Cluster in collaboration with the regional coordinator.
  • Reporting to Regional Co-hosts and IH Global team on bi-weekly calls and reporting against KPIs every quarter.
  • Create attractive offers for Community Partners; promote and sell memberships, and assist in the onboarding of Community Partners.

3. APAC Cluster Coordination

  • Be involved in the preparation of annual Regional Gathering with the country host. (programmatic agenda, regional strategy etc..)
  • Co-host Monthly Regional Cluster calls alongside the Regional Coordinator.
  • Manage and provide accountability to the Regional Coordinator
  • Support Regional Coordinator with conducting Monthly Cluster calls
  • Assist the Regional Coordinator in organizing and facilitating bi-annual discovery calls with Impact Hubs and Community Partners to understand their local activities, strategic positioning, capacity, goals, and challenges, to better support the fundraising efforts.  
  • Coordinate and execute quarterly bank reconciliations in collaboration with the regional team.
  • Explore and research the process of registering a legal entity in the region, with a specific emphasis on securing non-profit status, in coordination with the coordinator and co-hosts.

      Who we are looking for:

  • Experienced in forming strategic partnerships, sales, and client acquisition
  • Experienced in business development, which includes lead generation,

pipeline development, grant writing, and client management.

  • Experienced in project management and program implementation.
  • Background of at least 7 years in social development and sustainability
  • Able to fill multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Preferably has a background with the impact and start-up ecosystem.
  • Must be able to work remotely and have your own device
  • Must be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and flexible
  • Preferably a Maker based in locations where there is an Impact Hub in Asia Pacific.

Contractual Agreement

  • Legal Form: Independent Contractor.
  • Engagement: Between 20-30 hours per week  (0.5 – 0.8 FTE) with a flexible working schedule
  • Contract length: determined period contract November 2023 – December 2024
  • Team Engagement: a member of the extended global team with a coordinating role in a functional area
  • Location: You will have to be based in one of the countries of Asia Pacific. Remote role. You can work from any Impact Hub in Asia-Pacific. 
  • Remuneration: 2,500-3,000 EUR monthly for 1 FTE (total cost to the company as an independent contractor) depending on country of residence (subject to Cost of Living Adjustments), seniority and experience, and lower capacity will trigger a pro-rata remuneration. Example for 0.5 FTE: remuneration between 1,250 – 1,500 EUR that can be adjusted with the Cost of Living in the city of residence.
  • Citizenship/visa: Please note that Impact Hub GmbH will not be able to provide any visa process support. In case you live in a different country than your country of citizenship, you need to have an appropriate employment/independent contractor visa/permit for the respective country to be considered.
  • Reporting: Direct report to Regional Co-hosts and Global Business Development Director
  • Paid holidays: 25 days of paid time off annually and the local public holidays for 1 FTE will be pro-rated according to the FTE.
  • Allowances and other contributions
  1.  Coverage of travel costs and allowance according to company policy, full coverage of costs to attend requested internal/external workshops, conferences, and events; Attendance and flights for Regional Gathering and Global Gathering are covered.
  2. Membership and workplace at Impact Hub for one location
  3. 30 EUR monthly allowance for the use of own equipment, adjusted with FTE – for example, 24 EUR monthly for 0.8 FTE;
  4. Access to all company systems for work and communication.
